Party Time…3 Year Old Style!

It’s hard to believe that my youngest will be 3 years old tomorrow! I know that I should feel bitter-sweet about my babies growing up but, to be perfectly honest, I’m not really a baby person…gasp! Don’t get me wrong, I have truly loved every stage of my kids’ lives, but I found the infant to around 2.5 age range pretty exhausting. Along with the tantrums of the terrible two’s and three’s comes a lot more independence, for little ones and mamas alike! It’s nice to have my hands somewhat free again, to be free of diaper duty and to get a full night’s sleep…most nights. And as long as I can still get plenty of cuddles, I really love watching my kids grow into little people that I can have real conversations and adventures with. Lilah is so funny these days and keeps us laughing with her chatter, tomboyish antics and little “grown-up” facial expressions. We thought we were finished after two kids but I’m so glad that God whispered to us otherwise and gave us a third beautiful gift. Hurray for Lilah Green and hurray for 3!
We celebrated her birthday with some friends after school yesterday (so far, her friends consist of her older siblings playmates!) and I thought I’d share a few photos of how I decorated. Wisely, I refrained from putting out the way-too-many bowls of candy for decorating sundaes until ice cream was served but I wish I’d taken some pictures of it spread out in all it’s glory. But I did manage to snap at least a few quick shots before all mayhem broke loose…
I know that I recently featured some party inspiration here, but I couldn’t help but be drawn to some more pretty pink party decor on Etsy last night…the perfect way to decompress after the afternoon’s festivities! We’ve got a busy weekend ahead with some more birthday fun with family as well as our middle daughter, Sadie’s, preschool graduation. Oh, and Rachel and I are so excited to be going to our first blogger meet-up in Vancouver on Saturday afternoon! We’ll be meeting up with 15 other local members of the Canadian Design & Lifestyle Bloggers West…can’t wait to meet some more of these lovely ladies in person!

We had some other exciting news yesterday…did you see our market signs featured on Design*Sponge? That’s right, Design*Sponge! We were pretty thrilled to be included as one of their Before & After features. Also, our shop is now open again for business and we’ll be working hard to add more of our recent finds so stay tuned and have a wonderful weekend!
