Only 5 More Sleeps ’til Christmas

Once again, despite my ambitions to bring more Martha to my Christmas preparations, the final countdown has snuck up on me. And yet again, there are several projects/crafts/recipes on my never-ending list that I simply won’t have time for. But I’m more than ok with that…I’ll just keep them in mind for next year! I’ve had a few frantic holiday moments this weekend…like madly pulling things together for a houseful of company while entertaining 3 overexcited children while my husband had to work late . Or realizing, today, that the security tag was left on the gift I finally found for my brother-in-law by the store that it took my over 2 hours to reach in traffic. Sigh.Truthfully, it wouldn’t be the holidays without such hiccups but I’m hoping, for my sake and for the sake of my children, that there won’t be too many more! Instead of submitting to frazzled freak-outs (as they’re called in our home), I’m going to put some extra effort into being joyful, patient and remembering what Christmas is all about….

Tomorrow, we’re heading to the first of our family gatherings and after that I can relax a bit, wrap gifts, watch Christmas movies, wrap more gifts, eat some goodies and finish wrapping the too many presents stashed in my basement! Wishing many blessings and peaceful moments to you and yours!
