Calming Neutrals

Calming Neutrals

May 27, 2013

Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I’ve become very aware of how much I need to make room for calm moments throughout my day. Juggling family and work takes a lot of mental energy, as most of you well know, and it’s really hard for me to decompress at the end of each day. Can any of you relate? This blog is really therapeutic to me that way. It’s my time to sit down, zone out a little bit and have a creative outlet all to myself. While I obviously love colour, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all of the bold interiors featured out there on the world wide web and every now and again I find myself craving neutral living spaces, ones that allow the eye to rest while still looking comfortable enough to curl up with a good book in…

Although it’s easy to miss when quickly scrolling through, these spaces are far from boring. Each has subtle layers of pattern and texture (I’m seriously coveting that kitchen wall of hexagon tiles!) and every room could be easily accented with a bright colour, should the owner desire. A neutral background is always a good idea…timeless, classic and restful in this overstimulated day and age. Enjoy your Monday 🙂
