Another Year Older

Good morning! Today is my birthday (insert cheers here) and I am now the ripe ol’ age of 32. It feels a little strange to see my 20’s drifting further behind me but I’m not one to focus too much on age so hip hip hooray to getting older and, hopefully, wiser!
To be perfectly honest, this month has been a bit overwhelming for for me. Life has thrown some unexpected hiccups our way and, despite my recent getaway, I’ve had a tough time focussing on the many blessings in my life. I had a great talk with a good friend yesterday and she helped to put things in perspective. Life is a journey of hills and valleys but we can’t let ourselves get bogged down in the valleys or we’ll miss out on the view at the top of the next hill. Friends are fabulous, aren’t they? Determined to turn my little frown upside down, I made a little resolution list last night to focus on having more patience, more gratitude and to be satisfied with less in the year to come. June has been so busy that I didn’t feel up to hosting our usual big shaker. I’ll be starting my day off at the gym (another resolution to stick to this year!), followed by lunch with my sister and a visit to my lovely hair stylist. Then, a couple of hours to myself before gathering up the kids and heading out for a family dinner. I’ll be getting together with some of my girls on Friday night and will celebrate a little bit more then but for now, I’m looking forward to a mellow day filled with sunshine….
