A Charming Australian Cottage
April 18, 2012
My, this week is just ticking right along, isn’t it? The last couple of days have suddenly been busy with Scout errands like signing off on event insurance, gathering generous silent auction donations and picking up some fantastic contributions to the gift bags we’re putting together for each of Friday evening‘s guests. It’s been really fun meeting other local business owners and chatting with up and coming vendors but it’s amazing how quickly the house falls apart when mommy’s distracted! Thankfully, Brad’s been helping me pick up the slack on the home front and I even got a chance to get out and visit with some dear high school friends the other night, which was really great. I also got two juicy tidbits of great news, which I’m excited to share with you all very soon…cliffhanger!

I came across this charming Australian cottage during our break last week and I think it looks like such a warm and magical place for the owners’ three children to grow up in, wouldn’t you agree? From all of the vintage and handmade details (I love that Sparrow painting, made by homeowner Jane Frosh for her daughter!) to that caravan guest house (who wouldn’t want to stay there?) right down to that blissful tree fort…now that’s what childhood memories are made of!

Oh my goodness, what fun my brood would have in this playhouse! Did you have a fort of any kind when you were a child? My dad built my sister and I a tree house and then a playhouse in each of our homes growing up and we had endless fun playing in them. I love watching my kids using imaginary play more than anything else. Dreaming big is important, no matter what your age, financial status, or other realities of life…you never know the places it will take you! Here’s to an optimistic Wednesday!
