Nautical for the Long Weekend

Hurray, it’s the long weekend! Happy Labour Day, y’all! Ok, so not sure where that y’all came from but maybe it’s due to all of the gorgeous red, white and blue in the pics below. And I am writing this post in the wee hours of the morning after spending a long (and successful!) day of thrifting in the States. And I just got home from painting the classroom floors at the shop so may or may not have inhaled too many paint fumes! Anyway, regardless of my new Southern drawl, the weekend is here and I would love, love, love to squeeze in one last beach day. There is sunshine in the forecast so I’m hoping to make it happen on Sunday or maybe even Monday….one last hurrah before school starts on Tuesday! To inspire beachy thoughts, I’ll leave you with the Malibu surf “shack” belonging to Nathan Turner and Eric Hughes…

I love this home with it’s crisp white walls and quirky bursts of colour throughout! And Malibu? Well, looks like they’re living the dream, wouldn’t you agree? Have a wonderful weekend and I’ll be back to chat on Wednesday!

Wow, that table in the second photo is awesome! Very nautical – I’ve never seen anything like it. The sun is shining here, so I’ll just close my eyes and pretend Malibu is surrounding me this weekend ;-)

I need more sun!!! We were cut short but I am looking forward to fall but I do wish the sun would stay just a little longer. I love the tongue and groove ceiling.

Ooh i really like this! And even though this house has so many great spaces throughout, it still feels like a home- which is what i love so much about it! I see so many ‘perfect’ houses and its refreshing to see one that actually looks/feels like home.
We’ve had such fantastic weather, and it’s going to continue. sooo happy! A couple of my photo shoots, this week, depend on a little sun ;)
