Market Sneak Peek + Festive Trees

December 6, 2011

What a weekend! We had such a fantastic day at Fieldstone at the EcoDairy on Saturday and it’s hard to believe it’s over already! I think I’m still processing and absorbing all of the beautiful displays, excited vendors and friendly visitors that came together to make it such a relaxed and perfect day. Our vendors once again pulled out all of the stops with their booths and tables and it felt like a vintage winter wonderland under the white tents! We were all chilled to the bone by the end of the day, but the smiles on everyone’s faces and watching visitors’ eyes light up when they started to look around made the cold well worth it. Jayme Lang set up an gorgeous photo booth, alongside Jessica MacDonald of Trove Vintage Rentals, and we’re thrilled with the photos she managed to take in between portraits. The yarn ornaments are some of the crafty treats that Rachel and I made for our booth and we definitely should have made more…we sold out of all of our yarn stars less than an hour after the market opened! Here’s a little sneak peek from Fieldstone Vintage Market and, don’t worry, we’ll be sure to post more pics by Jayme very soon…

The rest of our weekend was very busy too. On Sunday, while Rachel and her husband flew down South to do some house hunting in Florida, my family went to our youngest’s preschool Christmas concert (adorable!) and made our annual visit to the local tree farm. We cut down and brought our fresh tree home and I absolutely love how our house is now filled with the scent of evergreen! The kids were excited to setup their little fake tree in our daughters’ room and they decorated it with all of their crafty baubles and rainbow-coloured ornaments while I got to work on the big tree. Unfortunately, that’s when the busy-ness of the weekend seems to have caught up with me and I put my back out in a very big way. I pride myself on having a pretty high pain threshold but this was at the top of my chart and I’ve been hobbling around since. Thankfully, I have a great chiropractor and I’m hoping to be on the mend very soon so I can get back to the fun job of holiday decorating. For now, I’ll do very little bits at a time and take some inspiration from these cozy spaces and festive trees…

Have you finished your Christmas decorating already or do you like to save it until closer to Christmas Day? I was so happy to have time to do some shopping at Fieldstone on Saturday and I’m feeling like I’m actually pretty organized for the holidays…for now, anyway!
