Birch + Bird Vintage Home Interiors

Well, it’s only Day 2 of the first week of school and I’m already counting down the days until the weekend! My oldest two children started school yesterday, grade 3 and Kindergarten, and everything went off without a hitch. I absolutely love my kids’ school and have made so many great “mommy” friends there that it makes every drop off and pick up a little social outing. It’s our school’s first year of all day kindergarten and they chose to phase the kids in with staggered entry, making it a little tough to schedule work or plans for each day but I suppose it will be a lot easier for the kids this way.

Rachel and I have been so busy over the last few weeks with market plans that I think we’re both feeling a little more unorganized on the home front than we’d hoped to be. Our delayed summer has kicked in and seems here to stay, making it all the more difficult for me to get back into the swing of daily chores and cooking…I’m in need of some major inspiration! I’m hoping my domestic skills will be revived again soon but I’m pretty resigned to the fact that I’ll be putting off at least a few things until after September 24th!

Canadian House & Home

Birch + Bird is doing a little decorating side project, our first of it’s kind, and we’re on the hunt for the perfect pair of arm chairs for the space that we’re working on. We’ll be able to tell you more about the rest of the project soon, but for now we’ll describe it as a mix of rustic and industrial decor with some great vintage pieces thrown in for good measure…

Both our budget and our time frame are extremely tight and we’ve been religiously checking Craigslist in the hopes of finding that perfect pair of chairs. We’re not set on a specific style yet and I have a feeling it will be one of those we-know-them-when-we-see-them type moments…
