Happy Valentine’s Day everybody! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend and got to squeeze in some quality time with that special someone in your life! We had a busy weekend full of friends and celebrations and one by one we all came down with the sniffles yesterday. So it goes! Hopefully, it will just be a quick cold…sick little ones are no fun…and we’ll be back to our healthy selves soon! The hubby and I plan to go for a late morning brunch, since he’s off work for the day, rather than fight the Monday night crowds. It will just be a treat to get in some alone time during the day!

Rachel and I had a sushi and movie night with our combined kids the other night and were pleased to get in some good brainstorming and chit chat while the kids were distracted by Despicable Me.  We both keep coming across so many amazing letterpress and inspirational prints in our Etsy hunts and are really loving the positive vibes that they give off. I made a treasury while half watching the Grammy’s and came across a huge variety of beautiful and love-inspired prints like these…

Love is in the air and I found a few other lovelies in my Etsy and web travels that I just had to share. I really wish I’d seen this kraft + tissue paper garland in time to make it for Sadie’s birthday party last week…so cute!

Party time continues though…today is Rachel’s birthday! Happy Birthday, Rachel! I couldn’t have asked for a better partner-in-crime for our shop and blogging endeavors and I feel so lucky to have gained such a fabulous friend through this whole process! You know those people you feel like you’ve known forever? Kindred spirits? Well, that’s the kind of friend that Rachel is to me and I’m so happy our paths in life crossed at the perfect junction point in time. Wishing her a year full of only good things, happy moments and new adventures!

The Light Fantastic

In search of some images to properly celebrate Rachel, I stumbled across Cartolina Cards via Poppytalk and I can’t believe I’ve never come across them before! I absolutely love the work of Fiona Richards and the icing on the cake is that she’s from Nelson, BC…one of my favourite places to visit! Nelson is nestled up in the Kootney Mountains next to a beautiful river and is only an hour and a bit drive from my in-laws family cabin. It’s full of unique shops, talented craftspeople and the steepest streets lined with charming Heritage homes…I highly recommend a visit! Fiona sells her cards online, she has an adorable blog and just recently opened up an Etsy shop (yay!) for some of her larger posters.

While narrowing down my treasury picks, I found some poignant words of wisdom to remember with relationships. My mom always taught us to never go to bed angry and I think these are other great tips to add to the list…
